Here in Milan “September” means only one thing: Fashion Week. And the spring (better saying the closer one of 2020) has already blossomed. The Milan fashion week has begun, and it is reconfirmed an unmissable event for buyers, we fashion people and insiders. What happened during this fashion week it’s written here in this blogpost. I faced a lot of unmissable events, can’t stop for even a minute: when the FW ended, you too (for fatigue, of course!) #LOL
DAY 1 – 17th September
The first appointment was with I’m Isola Marras. The new Spring / Summer 2020 collection by I’M Isola Marras, designed by Efisio Marras, son of the Sardinian designer Antonio Marras and creative director of the contemporary family line, tells us about a journey into the past, we can hear the 60s in more detail. The clothes looked upbeat and cheerfully feminine, graced by a Warhol-inspired, blown-up flower print in bright colors. Short minidresses had a late-’60s vibe, while the street-sporty attitude was smoothed in favor of a more girly approach. Not my style, but definitely I loved the atmosfere!
DAY 2 – 18th September
My first appointment of the day was with exceptional women, who were able to use their talent with intelligence, creativity and tenacity, highlighting their competence, charisma, vision, ability to innovate: Forbes Italia chose 100 and published the list on the July volume, including movie stars and television presenters, designers, scientists, athletes and above all entrepreneurs and successful managers in command of large companies or small family businesses. Some of these top women were interviewed on this occasion, as part of a survey on female leadership within the number being distributed these days.
MAX & Co. celebrated its new successes during Milan Fashion Week with a party in the Milanese flagship store and an afterparty at the Apollo Club (my fav club in Milano btw). Guests of honor, two exceptional talents in contemporary music: Nina Kraviz, world famous DJ and producer, and Róisín Murphy, legend of avant-garde pop music with over 25 years of career. An epic evening with my partner in crime Madina. Always a looooot of fun.
One minute video of the party here below
DAY 3 – 19th September
At the Giorgio Armani 2020 spring summer collection a sentence introduces the event to the guests “according to the myth the nymph Eco became only a voice: intangible”. From here we start to tell the seventy-seven look that went on stage. The show begins with neutral, brown and beige tones, on jackets with round shoulders and a narrow waist that slowly mix with electric blue. Up to an ever more ethereal palette made of pastel shades and almost impalpable grays. A story, therefore, made up of colors and weights, processes and cuts, all used to give life to a transposition of natural elements into clothes.
I wear a very basic look, but at the same time gritty. The magic of the leather. These Armani boots are absolutely a “must have”!
Few hours after there was the Fendi’s appointment. In this latest show we find synthetic fibers next to cotton, jacket suits and quilted shorts next to furs lined with floral prints, trench coats and Seventies-inspired suede dresses. The 70s are also the protagonist in the accessories, such as the maxi sunglasses with square lenses and the maxi clutch bags. The palette is very contrasted: the sand, beige and brown tones alternated with the delicate pastel shades of the pink give way to greens and yellows, to maxi floral prints. Cheerful and colorful fisherman’s hats remind us to always complete our outfits with a touch of irony. LOVE IT.
I combined my look with two friends of mine. The connecting point is our choice of sunglasses: all from the latest retail collection. Which one is your favourite?
In the evening my last appointment was with Sergio Rossi, an event organised always by my family of #Rollover. The new collection introduces a new bold sneaker model. A maxi sole and the iconic SERGIO logo printed on the grosgrain tongue or on the heel are the hallmarks of Extreme. Furthermore, there are many rouches to choose from, to be purchased separately to follow the new seasonal trends.
Key words: absolute contemporaneity, eccentric, versatile and romantic mood.
These rouches by Sergio Rossi are made in bright white, black, red and silver monochrome colors. Animal prints, all-over logomania, material contrasts between paint, denim and scuba are combined with precious details to play – each of us with our own style. Let us be inspired! 🙂
DAY 4 – 20th September
And the next appointment takes place at the Apollo Club with Sita Abellan for the presentation of the jewelry line, Lilith, inspired by the “legendary” first woman of the world and first wife of Adam, always a symbol of feminism.
A line in the name of symbolism: snakes, suns, moons, padlocks and chains transport us to a dreamlike world that transcends reality.
In this new collection we see the origin of the world, on the one hand, and the magic of the unknown on the other.
In order to follow the mood of the collection, why not wear a snake printed shirt?
DAY 5 – 21st September
MSGM is ten years old and celebrates the goal with this – amazing – spring summer 2020 collection. Everything was settled in the garden of the Milan Triennale. Lace was the protagonist of the MSGM language. This collection enhances the DNA of the brand and its history: on the one hand the great tailoring, on the other the pop and contemporary style. A confirmation that finds in the energetic colors – fuchsia, yellow, green, blue – its expression. But also a game that meets its dynamism in volumes, bows, lace, ruffles and fringes.
Nothing to say, this pink MSGM coat I was wearing is just one of my favourites piece in my wardrobe.
Ermanno Scervino’s woman is sensual and elegant. From the robe dresses and the pajama suits, it proudly shows the underwear, in lace, which we know well is the signature of the maison. This is how the trait of Italian craftsmanship transpires, which is combined with stripes, polka dots, animal prints on dresses, and leather workwear suits. The secret of success? A touch of underwear and sportswear makes everything absolutely perfect.
Not for nothing my choice of look falls in a cotton shirt with black and white stripes. It was love at first sight with the lace finishing work, incredible. Maybe the time to use my nightgown as a dress has arrived… Thank you Scervino!!
And in the evening we were in the Ticinese area with the Ssheena, where models posed in front of guests for the presentation of the 2020 collection. The tone is decidedly provocative and intense, with accents of rock well in line with the name of the brand, Ssheena, which comes from the song “Sheena is a punk rocker” by Ramones. The cuts are precise and the materials are silky, for clothes that glide over the skin.
The two-tone summer dresses in black and white are widely open on the front, neon orange outfits illuminate the scene with their brilliance, ribbons and laces twist around the back, accentuating the movement of the dresses. In love with the present asymmetries, which each time bring a boost to her clothes, reinforced by strong details, such as the body painting in the collection.
This time, however, I found myself on the “other side”, not as a blogger but as a model. I thus had the opportunity to document the backstage of the event. It’s always nice to see a little of everything with a different point of view, isn’t it?
DAY 6 – 22nd September
In the s/s 2020 collection by Boss there was some of New York life, its colors, its inspirations, it almost seemed to be in one of the many art galleries in Soho.
Once past the total black entrance, we entered a world of pastel colors, projected onto the walls, on which giant silhouettes appear. The mirrors of water and the skyscrapers of the Big Apple are reflected in the clothes of the fashion show.
Like a scale of musical notes, the outfits paraded lightly in a crescendo of colors that gradually fade from the purest white to ultramarine blue. Passing through mint green and light yellow, we focused on peaks of intense red.
The Boss S / S 2020 is a total immersion in an idea that emerges from the sharp, clean cuts and special fabrics. Fine and impalpable silks are used, cotton with a large mesh, soft laser-cut suede, technical and shiny fabrics.
Milan Fashion Week could not have a better ending!
