The Courmayeur area in Valle d’Aosta is certainly one of the most famous Italian locations because it is perfect for mountain lovers and for those looking for a destination that can offer many other opportunities for activities to be carried out.
This is definitely a destination to be included in the personal list of places to visit: enchanting landscapes, tasty food and beautiful ski resorts, will make your stay in this beautiful location a real dream!
I bring you with me in this short but intense holiday, giving tips and advice, showing you nice places to visit and activities not to be missed in order to better enjoy this area!
First let’s talk about the location. I stayed in this small but comfortable b&b https://www.locandabellevue.com
Great comfort and very nice staff from every point of view, 3 nights of pure relax. The Suite room was splendid (moreover it was an upgrade offered for availability), with always impeccable cleanliness! Delicious breakfast with a wide choice of products, both sweet and savory. I recommend this place to all couples who want to enjoy some relaxation and enjoy good dishes 😉
We also used the restaurant with excellent typical food. Approved!
Among the main things to see in Courmayeur it is impossible not to mention its beautiful center: the elegant shops, which enliven the heart of the town, make via Roma a large elite market. Large designer shops, artisan shops that process raw materials according to the most ancient tradition, super-supplied sporting goods stores, and then move on to the long list of bars, restaurants, hotels and clubs intended for entertainment of all kinds. Courmayeur is a city full of life!
But the slopes are the real stars! They succeed in attracting winter sports lovers from every corner of the globe, which, as mentioned, extend for more than a hundred kilometers, between ski lifts which are among the most beautiful, but also the most efficient ones in the world . Needless to go around: Courmayeur is the true queen of winter sports. The perfect lifts are ready to welcome a large number of sportsmen and people who love snow in general and satisfy every need: not only the professional, but also those who have decided to try to make friends with the white coat that covers these peaks will be pampered in every way. Skiers and snowborders can take advantage of the daily ski pass. The price varies according to the season, on average 50 euros, but discounted hourly tickets are also available. In total, 100 km between slopes and off-slopes.
The thermal baths of Pré Saint Didier are an oasis in the midst of nature: the thermal path includes whirlpools, waterfalls, hydrojets, biosaunas, steam baths, a salt room and relaxation lounges where you can doze undisturbed. Enjoying the panorama of the Giant’s Tooth from the outdoor pools is an incredible experience. The evening panorama takes your breath away to say the least, the amount of pools and rooms to choose from is remarkable and makes it possible to never have to be in the midst of too many people.
The daily admission price, 48 € per person, is not cheap, but let’s say that the structure is very large and deserves, when it is not too crowded. Excellent promotion that gives one entry in two, in couple only pay one, to those who turn years on the date of visit.
Relaxation is assured, you are pampered at all times from start to finish. Overall, a beautiful place.
The visit to Courmayeur cannot fail to conclude with the ascent to Punta Hellbronner via the brand new Sky Way Monte Bianco cable car. I must say that this is a unique experience! Its peculiarity is that during the ascent the cabins rotate, so as to allow the view of all the surrounding peaks. In a few minutes I reached the panoramic terrace where I was able to admire a breathtaking view.
Before leaving back to Milano, we decided to eat at this super typical restaurant. And yes, the food was amazing!!
